This King Arthur-themed restaurant dishes out pizzas, sandwiches, salads and more to hungry families and couples on dates..
In Short
The first Round Table Pizza opened in Menlo Park, Calif. in 1959. Today, the chain boasts more than 500 restaurants internationally and is recognized for its made-from-scratch dough, mozzarella, provolone and cheddar blend and gourmet toppings like fire-roasted Roma tomatoes, creamy garlic sauce and salami. Pizzas are available in pan and "skinny" (aka, super-thin) varieties. The menu also offers up turkey, ham and chicken club sandwiches, bread sticks and salads.
Late pizza and tasted stale.
Ordered pizzas and pizzas arrived cold and stale. It tasted like leftover pizza. Called for a refund or discount, driver was sent back. They wanted to give $5 refund. Driver called store, store manager said he couldn't refund because we had eaten some of the pizza. We offered to send back what we hadn't eaten of the pizza for even half of the amount paid. Clerk at store said it was unethical to refund money. We waited over an hour for this pizza and were hungry and tehn disappointed. Pizza was not the high quality pizza one would expect from Round Table. Round Table did not fulfill it's expectation of quality pizza. The reason we ordered and paid $30 was for Round Table quality pizza.
Then the driver started yelling at us for making him come back to our house. He was very rude.
They flaked on our delivery!!!. We're in Emeryville and had gotten delivery from this Round Table before, but it was a 'big order' (probably around $100). Four of us decided to order in and split a large pizza, called in at 11 a.m. and ordered, and received a call an hour later (when our pizza was supposed to be delivered coincidentally) saying that they wouldn't deliver to us unless we had another 'big order'. This is all fine and dandy (not really, but I would find it 'acceptable'), but shouldn't we be told at the time we're ordering??? I'm floored. We won't be going to them again. Not even with 'big orders'.
