The Scene
The main feature of the room is the bar itself: A curvy wooden structure usually tended by an equally curvy barmaid. The rest of the room is a darkened den with a couple of tabletop video games and a jukebox featuring funky selections, from Bob Marley to George Clinton. A downstairs poolroom was opened in April 2003. Two small TVs hang over the bar give people something to yell at when not in conversation with each other.
The Draw
As the neon martini glasses in the window indicate, it's all about stiff drinks here. Shots are commonly bought as gifts for other patrons. Herradura is a standout tequila and Red Tale Ale bottles are a good selection from the otherwise mainstream beer list. The name of this bar is deceptive, as the crowd is a bit older than those at surrounding college bars.

Insider Tips
Cheap EatsItems from the Claremont Diner next door can be ordered at the bar until 10pm. A grilled cheese sandwich with french fries is only $3.
SmokesA cigarette machine is hidden near the restrooms for those who need to feed the monkey. Outside smoking only.
Cash OnlyNo credit cards accepted here, but an ATM is right across the street.

Best beer prices around, 6 taps, Full Liquor selection. Happy Hour is $2 wells and $1 PBR $1.50 BUD. This is my Favorite neighborhood spot. Watch games on TV and eat all of the free popcorn. You can't beat a place that has a three bottle JAGERATOR. I wish I was a student b/c of $2 sierra, $2 wells, $1 PBR all the time. It is cozy and sorta divey. Just my kinda place. Also gotta love that the Pixies are on the jukebox.
Pros: Prices, Prices, atmosphere

no beer on tap! paying a ton of money for bottles while you're sitting across the street from a safeway where you could buy a 6 pack for the same price as a beer here.... not much of a draw. But the margaritas are awesome.
Pros: convenient, seedy, small
Cons: , sketchy crowd, small
