Great Chinese food. Very good food. Everything tastes fresh and I like that the orange chicken is never too sweet. I would also recommend the chicken fried rice. The rice is still moist and not dry like some places.

Delicious, Fresh Food and a Nice Atmosphere!. Holly's has a great dark/modern atmosphere that makes it feel a little upscale. The food does that too, but the prices are very reasonable ($7-13 per plate). They also have combo specials if you want a little of everything but are on a budget.

You have a choice of steamed white or brown rice, and the food is always fresh and house-made. The dishes are not overly greasy, and the veggies are always fresh and still a little crisp.

The service is also very good, even when they are packed.

If I could change one thing, it would be the spice factor. The dishes with the little pepper on the menu were not that spicy, and even the hot chili oil lacked a kick.

I am from NY, and when I have out of town guests, I take them to Holly's to avoid the gristle and to take in the atmosphere.

rancid oil. The food -- disgusting. They obviously don't change their oil in the deep fryer enough. The egg rolls were unedible. Much better Chinese is available in the region.

I will NEVER eat here again. I paid over $10 for one a la carte item (orange chicken) and steamed rice. This is expensive even for a Chinese restaurant although not unreasonable if you get a lot in return (I didn't). They packed my item in a styrofoam to-go box. There was so pitifully little it didn't even cover the bottom. There was also a tiny box of steamed rice. Several minutes passed before anyone even came up to me to ask if I had been helped. Having grown up on Chinese food, I know what it's supposed to taste like. I would say the food at King Yen is mediocre to bad. I would much rather have gone to Panda Express or any other Chinese fast food place where I would have received much better service, much more food, and better tasting food for a lot less money.

Yummy Dumplings!. This was one of my favorites in the Berkeley area - and had yummy steamed dumplings. The food itself was very good, too - although not spectacular. Modest prices (back in 1994 anyway...)
