Best Dogs in the Bay Area!. Dining is not pretentious, but if you're looking for the best hot dog (et al) with all the trimmings, then you've got to try Colonel Mustards. An added plus, is that it's right around the corner from one of the last truly magnificent 'Movie Places' left in existence (The Grand Lake.) Do your self a favor, and try this place! After living in the Bay Area for 20+ years, it's one of my fondest memories.

9: Abit pricey, but VERY high quality. This place has excellent dogs and quite a variety at that. It has a quiet place to sit, freshly sliced tomatoes and onions and every other trimmming you'd want, fresh and high quality condiments and it's right next to one of the old great movie houses: the Grand Lake Theatre in Oakland and right down the street from Walden Pond books. They have a variety of different sausages, good fresh buns, a clean and comfortable environment and friendly service. Maybe abit on the small side for the popularity of the place, especially. Sometimes it's hard to get a place to sit.
