Milano Restaurant Oakland

A Word of Caution. The food is fair and the service OK, but our biggest surprise came after dinner. We'd parked in the Milano parking lot and since it was a slow night, the lot was only half full when we finished. So rather than move our car, we walked down Grand Ave. and spent an hour or so at The Alley. When we returned to the lot at around 9:45pm, the restaurant was closed and, in addition, the owner had had our car towed. We pounded on the door and finally got him to respond. He told us he didn't know where our car had been towed, but finally gave us a number to call. We called the number and it turned out to be Berry Brothers Towing at 55th and Shattuck, and the towing charge was $430. The owner was "so sorry", but said he had to keep his lot clear. Later on, the attendant at Berry Brothers told us the owner does this routinely to clear remaining cars from the lot. We found out later that our car had been towed away at 9:30pm. We'd left Milano at around 8pm.

Anyway, if you're in the mood for OK, overpriced Italian food, go on foot, or remove your car from the lot immediately after you've paid the bill!!…

Best in East Bay. The best polenta I ever had is served here at Milano Ristorante in Oakland. Creamy polenta, with grilled quail topped with marsala mushroom sauce. Everything about our party was grate, from service, ambiance, friendly staff, food, and drinks. Next time you are there ask for Milanos Electric Current Martini. This was the best Martini I ever had. The place is happening and exciting. The best feature about this restaurant is their private banquet room. I celebrated my wifes 40th B-day with forty of our friends.…
