Koryo Sushi
by ysabeaux at Citysearch
Been going here for years. Great sushi, very fresh, good, fast service. Place fills up so it can sometimes take a while to get a seat. The neighborhood is fine for walking around in while you're waiting. They're open until 2 or 2:30 am - what's not to like. I recommend it to anyone who really likes sushi. Oh, the 49er roll is great.
- Pros: fast service, even when busy
- Cons: sometimes a wait because of popularity

im truly sorry for those who were looking for decent restaurant reviews and stumbled onto this nonsense.
but... i must... write... this... frikkin... comment.
of course im going to give this restaurant a 10 cus i actually work there and have been working there for a coupla years now.
i have no idea who posted the last comment, and im only posting a reply cus its really pissing me off.
1) maybe u've briefly worked at miyozen or drunken fish (the sister restaurants), and ive actually been called out to work at these places, also. it doesnt seem like something they would do (with tip money) unless u were a horrible horrible worker and had to be trained over n over. POINT 1 is: do not make koryo sushi workers look bad or make our restaurant look bad when u dont even know wtf ur talking about. POINT 2 is: this is not a website where u talk sh*t about how ur old job treated u.
2) most of our customers are from all different areas and of various nationality. what the hell would we gain from treating them poorly according to... race... or nationality... or.. anything? POINT 3 is: maybe u were treated poorly cus u were a terrible terrible worker and have been fired n now ur just bitter.
3) the food on the conveyor belt at miyozen sits out all day? how would u know unless u worked at miyozen, not koryo? and if u are from miyozen and if u are who i think u might be, arent u the one who would take all the leftovers after shifts (so new food could be replaced onto the belt)?
i have so much more to write but will stop here.
P.S.-hey, ID"yourmamaana," next time u put up a public post talking nonsense, maybe u should spell right and get ur grammar right. u can find me at koryo sushi and talk to my face.
HORRIBLE!

I use to work here an quickly quit because there were so many things wrong with the way they would run things. For the first month they only tip you $5 then it goes up for $20 until they feel like you are ready. When you are ready since you haven't been there longer than the other servers they double the $20 and you get $40 when everyone elses gets a larger cut. Everyone ends up quiting so it must mean that something is wrong with the way they run there restaurants. It seems that most of there workers are foreign exchange students. It didn't matter that you worked all day it was still the same tip. The servers who have been working for awhile would pocket most of the tip. They also would talk bad about the other nationality workers behind there backs. They would openly speak about customers and even say offensive remarks. They would say that certain nationalities do not tip well because they are cheap, and that certain nationalites only eat certain things. The kitchen is unsanitary and the dishes are not properly wash and the food isn't being prepared in a clean environment. I've seen things dropped and picked up, fingers dipped in drinks and soup, etc. The conveyer belt at there restaurant Miyozen in Emeryville sits out all day. The sushi is made in the morning before the lunch crowd walks in and at the end of the day at 10 pm it is still sitting there for people to eat! I've worked in many restaurants and this is the worst one. It's not a surprise all there workers drop like flies. It is poorly run, dirty and the horrible fake owners should not be supported.
- Cons: everything!
