Delicious!. The food was excellent, and our food came really quickly. The servers were efficient in that they cleared our plates as soon as we were done, and had the dessert menu in hand just as we were about to ask for it. I recommend you go for dinner in a group and have each person order one item so that you can all share. Everything we ordered was divine! Our stomachs didn't feel heavy afterwards and all the items were relatively inexpensive. It was a bit crowded, but I understand why! Free Parking after 5 pm on 11th and Jefferson!

Worst Service Ever. Le Cheval has really great food, I'll give that to the cook. But the service is aweful, I think due to the fact that they are so busy they care less about what the customers think or wants and needs, to the point where the manager has told me, if I don't like their service...go somewhere else. First, you never tell a customer to go somewhere else, I mean come on...just because your popular doesn't give you a reason to be rude.

Delicious food, friendly service. The ambience is classy, and -- led to the restaurant by a group of friends -- I was afraid to check the prices on the menu. Boy, was I surprised! VERY generous portions, and nearly everything under $10. And most importantly, all seven dishes were ordered were excellent! Tender meat, crisp vegetables, and fragrant un-greasy sauces.

What else impressed me was how I felt after this big meal; happy, comfortable, and not loaded down. Indeed, I went directly to a swing dance event afterwards, full of energy.

I don't think I'd take a date here, since it was a bit loud and crazy, but I am DEFINITELY coming here again with friends!

Tasty, better than denang 67'. Le Cheval is the real deal. Try the Orange flavor spicy beef or chicken. @$6 and very high quality and great portions. They also give you soup, which is homemade, unique and good. I haven't had vietnamese this good since 7.62 tracers were whizzing by my head in the Mekong Delta.

Old Oakland is ALIVE again!!!. This restaurant is amazing!!! It's fun, loud, and the place to be and be seen in Oakland. The food is excellent and the service is fine. The full service bar is something you won't find at a typical Vietnamese eatz. There's a reason why you should make reservations...this place a popular by word of mouth!!! Recommended Dishes: Chicken Wings, Shrimp Rolls, Cube Beef Steak, Watercrest Salad, String Beans w/Shrimp, and for dessert...the Banana Flambe!!!

The worst service ever!!!. My friend and I dined at Le Cheval last Sat......The hostess and bartenders was very friendly and helpful. However, when we got to the table, our waitress was this older asian lady who didn't know how to speak english and never even gave us the specials. We ordered the five course meal, which was a very bad choice....mediocre food served hastily....Again, the service was terrible.....she basically threw the food at us. Then, she never even came back to ask if everything was okay. This place is decorated with high class, but the service was definitely low class. I felt like I was dining at a regular Pho restaurant in Chinatown.

I will never eat at this place again!!! And, to make it worse, the waiters were just hanging out at a table behind us. Something I expect at a Denny's. Not a restaurant like this.....
