Overview – Covering 100 acres of Knowland Park, the Oakland Zoo is home to more than 400 animals from around the world. Several distinct habitats are recreated here; African Veldt, African Savanna, Australian Outback and a Tropical Rainforest. - Know Before You Go:
- The zoo closes during "inclement weather." If it's raining, chances are you won't get in. Otherwise, Thanksgiving and Christmas Day are the only days the zoo is closed.
