I have been involved with Unity Center of Walnut Creek for over 22 years and have learned about many different spiritual paths and teachings to help deepen my relationship with the divine. Through the various programs at Unity Center I have seen that all paths lead to the same place. I have been exposed to various styles of meditation, prayer, and spiritual texts while at Unity. I have learned from many wonderful teachers who have presented their work to Unity members. There have been speakers from many traditions and encompassed many topics--health and wellness, metaphysical Bible interpretation, energy, quantum physics, the wisdom of Native tradtiions, integration of Eastern and Western thought, Heartmath, A Course in Miracles, etc. There is a committed group of volunteers who show enthusiasm for the Center and a desire to assist others in their spiritual path. There are wonderful musicians who put their heart and soul into their music. There are renovations taking place on the church grounds to provide more space for the children as well as a more modern facility. I have made wonderful, loving and supportive friends at Unity. I am honored to be part of Unity Center of Walnut Creek
Pros: a committed staff and wonderful congregation, opportunaties to study various spiritual paths
Cons: the current facility is a bit old; however, renovations are taking place to modernize the facility.

I have been attending thischurch for 10 years-through 4 Ministers. This ladder-climber Reverend David MacArthur is the worst. Every service lately has been a Heartmath (MacArthur's pet biofeedback program) infomercial. Most guests are Heartmath cronies. This church used to have great speakers-Marianne Williams, Donald Walsch and more. They used to have a great metaphysical bookstore with lots of great books and cool items to buy. Now it's a corner of a poor imitation of a cafe. Gone is the great music. The current Music person sounds like a karaoke dreamer, band Heartdream, although nice people-just doesn't cut it. More and more empty seats at services. Don't bring the kids. "Sunday school" is just kids running wild as far as I can tell. All community outreach programs started by MacArthur's predecessor are either gone or limping. No religious or racial diversity like there used to be. Classes are dry, superficial-tend to be based on "attracting what you want"-money and love, in that order. Spiritual seekers should go over the hill to Unity of Berkeley-it's what Walnut Creek used to be, before the greedy MacArthur put his hand in the church coffers. It should be noted that the "5 star" review by Norma Fox is purely a publicity stunt, as she is personal friends with MacArthur and put together and maintains the "Official" Unity of Walnut Creek website-she is the webmaster, in fact. Hardly an impartial party. She is also a constant presence at the singles events-desperately attaching to any new male. Did I mention that the singles stuff bites lately, too? Don't bother-anyone interesting, spiritually centered, fun or under 75 left months ago. Try Spirit Rock for that-they have some cool stuff going on there. No unity at Unity anymore. Keep searching....
Pros: lots of expensive video screens to view the minister
Cons: Spiritually shallow-leave disgusted, not pondering God, love and unity. AVOID
