I get both my hair and waxing done at Changes because the staff is incredibly professional. As soon as you walk into the salon, you don't feel like an outsider (as some salons can often make you feel like). Everything is incredibly sanitary and modern, and the products available for purchase are some of the top names. They always make me feel like a superstar, whether getting my hair cut or waxing something. The prices are a bit steep for its suburban location, but I only go once in a great while to make my money stretch. They understand that and always take it into consideration. In addition, they have late hours so I rarely find them completely booked.

Pros: clean, modern, variety of services

Cons: expensive

It was awful until I found Jim. He was great! My hair is very asian - straight and on top of that thin too. So I could say it's an ultimate testing for a stylist's skills. I like short haircuts with graduated bob at the back and an A line in the front. I've never been happy after the haircuts until I found him. Watching him to cut hair is like watching an artist painting a picture. Once when he wasn't available Rachel cut my hair and I left very unhappy. First of all, the woman wore extremely uncomfortable clothes (tight jeans and high heels) that prevented her from bending down. And she used a razor blade the whole time, even though I kept asking her to use the scissors. Without knowing that Jim has left the Changes I called the place last week and was told that he is not there, but they insisted in finding someone else who could cut my hair. That someone else was Elisabeth. She was clueless what I wanted! In a minute she started to cut I knew if was going to be a fiasco. I was ready to cry when I saw a stylist next to us cutting someone's hair. That was basically the haircut I wanted and I told Elisabeth about it. And then that stylist next to us - Caron looked what I had and I think she knew Elisabeth's incompetence and stepped in and cut my hair! She saved my day. Elisabeth can't cut hair, maybe she is good at coloring, but she is not a good stylist. But it's not fair that she charges $52! The bottom line is if you want a short haircut and if you have straight hair you are better off going to one of their top stylists. Anyone lower than that would be mediocre even though they charge $45 to 50.
