Never go to this place even if you have
bought the Boy Scout Camp Card like I did! Like they say, " Penny Wise, Pound Foolish". I decided to come to Dutch Girl cleaners just because they had an offer on the Camp Cards. " $15.00 off $30.00 or more dry cleaning per visit". I had my regular dry cleaners but since this people had an offer, I came here thinking I could save some money!
I have never written a review on Yelp but this people have driven me to the edge. Sometime in October, I had sent a few of my husband's dress pants with some of mine for drycleaning. I probably collected it within a week or two. But unfortunately, my husband does not wear dress pants to work and so, we did not look at what I had brought home from the cleaners until December 12. My husband was attending a conference the next two days and was packing and realized that we were missing the two pants that I had sent in to Dutch Girl cleaners. Instead, there was a Size 22 women's LL Bean khakis with another two of the pants that I had sent in. We could not do anything as it was 9p.m . Next morning, I call them and spoke to a girl and told her the whole story and that I had a pants that did not belong to us and that we were missing two pants. I did tell them that I would come by that evening but was late from work .On Saturday, December 15, after my husband returned, we both went over and took the pants that was not ours and spoke to a Samantha at the store. She was really nice and took down all the particulars and said that a Ms. Micka who was incharge of missing stuff would call me on Monday. My husband had similar brands of the pants which were missing and we took it with us. We returned the pants which was not ours
My husband was upset as there was no way he could get another pair of the same pants because they don' t sell his size anymore since he is a Size 48/50. That was why he wanted back his pants.
Micka did not call me on Monday and on Tuesday, Dec 18 , when I called, Micka answered and when I asked her about it and that she was supposed to call me, she said she did know anything about it. I explained that I had spoken to Samantha on Saturday and repeated the story again and she said she will call in the afternoon after she looks into it but there were no calls from them. On Wednesday, Dec 19, I called in the evening about 6.10 p.m and spoke to Samantha and said that Micka had not called me back and when I said she did not know anything about it , Samantha said that it was her fault that she had forgotten to mention it to Micka. She told me that Micka was not in at 6.10p.m although she had told me the day before that Micka worked from 11.30 to 8.00p.m. I asked to speak to the owner and she told me that the owner only comes in once a week and unfortunately, it was on Wednesdays which was the day before.
Today I made one final call and Micka answered the phone. When I asked her that she was supposed to call me back, she said very rudely " we dont have your pants. We returned all your pants and It is more than a month and we cannot do anything about it" I got mad and said that it was obvious they lost our pants since they had given me a pants belonging to someone else. She said " That is not our pants and no one has asked for that pants" . She was really rude. I was upset and just hung up and said,
"I know what to do"
Not only we lost our pants which my husband really likes since he cannot get that type of pants considering he is a Size 48 and that fitted so well, we had to encounter this rude girl from the Store.
You would think this will never happen at a store where everything is done on the site and not out- sourced. It is obvious the girl has not been trained to deal with this situation and has no PR at all. What more can you say of a store where the owner comes once a week!
So if you buy Boy Scouts Camp Card, go to Safeway to use it or the other businesses, but DEFINITELY NOT DUTCH GIRL CLEANERS!
Terrible experience & customer service. Terrible experience & customer service. I used Dutch Girl Cleaners for a couple months with no problems. I then had them dry clean a wool jacket, which they shrank to the point it is unusable. Management would not return calls, to the point it was a joke. There are plenty of dry cleaners that will stand behind and guarantee their work. Do yourself a favor and avoid Dutch Girl Cleaners. Search the internet for reviews on them. There are plenty of other customers of Dutch Girl Cleaners that have had a similar experience.
Don't let these people ruin your clothing or special event...
Visiting Walnut Creek for a wedding, I dropped of my tuxedo shirt for cleaning and pressing on Friday. When I picked it up on Saturday afternoon at 3pm, the shirt had black spots on both the collar and back of shirt. I asked them to redo the shirt and they said they couldn't as the cleaning staff had gone home even though they are open till 6pm. They offered no remedy, trying to find me an alternative cleaners. (FYI, they tried to tell me the spots were on the shirt when I brought it in - not so)
I asked to speak with the owner or manager and was told they were not there that day. I aksed if they could call them and they said the couldn't while I was there but would have them call me shortly.
It is now four days later with no contact from the cleaners. Don't patronize this place as they will greatly disappoint.
They Will Damage Your Clothes. I just got a pair of suit pants back from Dutch Girl--one leg is now longer than the other. This is the 4th time they have damaged or lost my clothes. Last time, they gave me back my suit pants, but with the wrong jacket. When I complained, they made me jump through hoops to prove what my suit cost and never did reimburse me. I've finally learned my lesson and will never go back.

Dutch Girl is the place to go if you would like to be charged dry cleaning prices for your items to be washed. If the tag dosn't say dry clean only, there washing it and going to charge you as if they dry cleaned it. I know for a fact because i worked there for 2 years. The owner steve is so shady I seen him once distroy a customers dress and then send it to his tallor who then removed 3in off the dress to cover up what he had done . Why not pay for what you did rather than cover it up shady thats why! Who does this so if you want to put money in a fraud business do so at
I recently moved to Mercer in Walnut Creek and began my search for a cleaner. A polite, well dressed in uniform, lady stepped out a Dutch Girl Tulip covered van to deliver clothes in my building. She saw I was struggling with some chairs, she immediately assisted me all the way to my NEW home. I thought with this kind of service and smile I should try the cleaner she worked for. Two days later I came into their store and realized that Kindness, Cleanliness, Attention to Detail, and Quality was just a standard there! I really felt like I was being serviced a 5 star Hotel.
They went above and beyond to remove ink stains from a pen that leaked during the move. They have won my husband and over, oh yeah and our clothes had no smell, so they won those over too!
Thank you Dutch Girls! May turn customer service shine through and not be over come by a bad day!

No Accountability. They stained the elbow of a very expensive men's dress shirt with black marker. It looked like it was the same black marker that they use to write the shirt owner's initials on the shirt with. When I pointed it out, the girls at the counter agreed and offered to clean it for free. When it did not come out, they showed the manager Michelle, and she would not take responsibility for it, and even said it was blue ink. She left no room for discussion and had no problem losing my business. Very disappointing considering I was spending on average about $150 a month there. I will not go back and would not recommend this place for dry cleaning.
I do apologize that you feel there was no responsibilty taken. To be more clear there were three blue ink stains on the left sleeve of the pink shirt. The area effected was the direct result of an arm sitting on a desk with a pen open and the tip of the pen spreading ink onto the shirt. Yes we do use a BLACK sharpie to write intial in the bottom inside of a shirt, the rest ofthe pens in the entire facility are ball point bic, which is incapable of bleeding unto garments and removable. We service most of the office in Walnut Creek and a large majority of our clients bring in shirts requesting the removal of ink in the same area you are mentioning, from placing their arm down on their desk. After examing your orders you have several other shirts with the exact same pen color and area marked, looking through your past invoices we have noteably removed these stains from your shirts before. 2 Day Turn Around No Matter How Many Items You Bring In!. This is my first review. I live about 2 blocks away from Dutch Girl. At first I was leary about the "environmentally safe" cleaning because I wasn't sure if my clothes would come out as nice as a traditional cleaning method. I find the staff is very helpful, they carefully inspect the materials of my clothes to make sure they don't need to over charge me to simply launder and press a garment instead of fully dry cleaning it. I've always been able to pick up my clothes after 4pm 2 days after I drop my items off, and whether I have 2 pieces or 20, they're always on time. If you look carefully, Dutch Girl also offers some great deals at various times during the month, so you can feel good about helping the environment and not feel like you are paying an arm and a leg. The staff has always been friendly to me, and they have done everything they can to ensure my clothes are done right the first time.

Oh my goodness! This has to be the best dry cleaners ever! Now, I don't get a lot fo dry cleaning done (but everyone in our company uses Dutch Girl and loves them - like at least 20 accounts!) but when I need it, I go there!
I recently got married and wanted just to clean MY special dress (even though they offer a very affordable "preservation" package. The dress came home perfect...no yellow tinting, not spots or any horror stories you hear about other places.
They are also the friendliest people you could ever meet! A good business with good people. IF you don't take your cleaning there - you're missing out!

Complete lack of accountability. Back in July 2007, my shirts were missing at Dutch Girls, and when they were found and returned to me, the missed shirts were pressed but stuck with many dots of dust as if they had been thrown on the floor. I had a bad experience communicating with a 50 something year old clerk there, and due to a lack of accountable person at the store, it took a while to get them to re-do the job. Finally, as a token of apology, Dutch Girls did not charge me for those missed shirts. Hence, I kept using their services. But, in February 2008, one of my shirts was missing and Roger, a self-claimed store manager called me to tell me that he would reimburse the cost of the shirt if I gave him my credit card receipt. After I search it, I could not locate a two months' old receipt. I called back and left a message for Roger that I wanted to discuss other remedies for the missing shirts because I did not find a receipt. I have not heard anything from Roger or anybody else since then. I gave up. I had used several laundry shops in San Francisco for over 12 years, but none of them had lost my shirt. Dutch Girls' complete lack of accountability turned me off. I stopped going back sine then. If you like a thrill of losing your clothes, go for Dutch Girls.
I apologize for your experience. This is not up to Dutch Girl Standards. We have hired all new staff, all our wonderful Girls left for College. It has been very difficult training. This is not meant as an excuse, we are being honest. I would really like to speak with you in person, please call me at 925-872-6333.
