A Rare Epicurian Gem in Walnut Creek!. While living in Chicago, I enjoyed many a fantastic Polish meal. There was nothing better than a warm plate of goulash or cabbage rolls on a winter's day, or spending time at an annual pierogi festival in the summer. After moving to California, I never expected to encounter the high caliber Polish cuisine I was used to. Much to my surprise and delight, I was wrong!

Chopin Cafe offers the very best in Polish cusine. The atmsophere is intimate, warm, and welcoming. You feel more like you were in someone's home kitchen than in a restaurant. The service is incredibly courteous, friendly and relaxed (a very rare thing in California restaurants). The staff are willing to take the time to answer your questions, thus making reccomendations that are sure to please anyone.

The food is fantastic! Of particular mention, the pierogis are delightful overstuffed pillows of potato/cheese, mushroom and meat with real carmalized onions (not the limp, sweated ones other places try to pull off). I also enjoyed the dill pickle soup (don't knock it until you try it!) My friend had the sausage, and was in heaven. And for dessert, the blintzes are other-worldly! The rum cake will warm your body and soul.

Give the place a try! You'll be glad you did!

Editorial Review. Old-fashioned family restaurant specializes in hearty Polish fare, such as pierogis and stuffed cabbage, and homemade desserts, like blintzes.

Delicious Polish Restaurant with Great Atmosphere. This restaurant is great for authentic polish cuisine. You even hear them speaking the language in the back! I love their food and recommend the cucumber salad, it is light and refreshing. The pierogi are decandent, and the bigos is rich and hearty. The staff is very friendly, and the price is right!

Just like Grandma used to make. The food here is delicious and the ambiance is quaint and old-world.
