I have gone to Shanghai Gourmet for years. Back in the 1990's this place had the chef from the consulate, it was delicious. But has since deteriorated. It still has some authentic dishes and is probably one of the few places in the east bay where mainlanders go to find something from home. It is better than most in the east bay if want more authentic and flavor than Panda (which is a joke). Now, we rarely go and usually leave a bit disappointed.
